What is the new Nintendo DSi game console?

The Nintendo DSi handheld console is the newest and most advanced addition to the Nintendo DS family and launched in the UK on Friday, 3 April 2009.

Nintendo DSi is the successor to the Nintendo DS Lite, and is packed with new features and improved functionality.

It is thinner and lighter than its predecessor but just as portable, and comes in a matt finish and is available in black or white.

Key features of the Nintendo DSi are:

• 2 x 3.25” touch sensitive screens
• 2 X 0.3 megapixel integrated cameras
• Longer stylus
• Built in SD card slot allowing full music playback
• Built in web browser
• Downloadable software
• Improved audio quality and volume
• DSi shop to download applications and games
• Fully compatible with almost all of existing games
• Pictochat to allow you to chat with your friends
• And it’s 12% slimmer that the DS Lite!
